What's the difference between a retainer and project-based work?
Retainers are ongoing — you pay monthly for guaranteed access and continuous partnership. Custom projects are fixed scope with a single upfront payment; the engagement ends when the deliverable is delivered.
Do you offer one-time consultations or W-2 contract work?
Expert consultations ($400/hour) are available now for analysts, investors, and research teams — pay via Stripe above, call scheduled once payment clears. Ciph Lab does not offer W-2 staffing or short-term project work outside the custom project model.

What if we only need help for 2–3 months?
Minimums: 3 months for evening advisory, 6 months for full advisory retainers, 12 months for fractional executive. For shorter engagements, a custom project may be the better fit — describe the scope in the form.
How are retainers billed?
Each month is invoiced in advance and must be paid in full before that month's work begins. All agreements include clear scope, deliverables, and cancellation terms.
