Who this is for

AI governance is a real job. Now there's a credential for it.

Every organization deploying AI needs someone who owns the operational layer. The IR™ Certificate is the first credential built for this role — serving companies upskilling IT, QA, or Legal Ops staff, and individuals transitioning into AI governance who need a legible credential.

🏗️
Already in the field
The experienced AI governance operator

You've been managing access, navigating security reviews, bridging IT and legal — without a certificate that reflects it. This is that certificate.

🚀
Making the transition
The governance-track professional

You're moving into AI governance from ops, IT, compliance, or policy and need a credential that makes that move legible to employers.

Who this is not for

Not a survey course or compliance badge — you apply a real framework to a real organization. If you want a quick credential, this isn't it.

What you get

Four weeks. Four frameworks. One certificate nobody else has.

Built entirely from Ciph Lab's own Intelligence Resources™ framework — the complete methodology for standing up governance infrastructure from scratch, taught exclusively here.

01
The Phase 0 Framework
8 sections, 24 preconditions, applied to a real organization.
02
The Governance Maturity Map
Map where your organization actually stands — before you build anything.
03
The GRACI™ Matrix
Governance accountability for AI workflows — G and V ownership across every task.
04
Access Tax™ Fundamentals
Quantify governance gaps in dollar terms. The financial language to defend investment to the CFO.
05
IR™ Operator Certificate
Verifiable at ciph-lab.com. LinkedIn-ready and employer-shareable, issued on capstone completion.
06
Cohort 1 Community
Direct access to Juanita Alvarez and fellow operators. The first cohort sets the standard.
Who belongs here

AI Governance is not reserved for the few.

Responsible AI deployment is too important to be gatekept by pedigree. "AI Governance Operator" is a functional title naming whoever actually runs the day-to-day infrastructure, regardless of department or background.

🏢
Organizations of every size

Small businesses and lean teams face the same AI risks as large enterprises — governance shouldn't be a luxury available only at scale.

🛤️
Operators of every background

The best operators came through legal ops, IT, and compliance — career paths that didn't have a name yet. What matters is the ability to map maturity, assign ownership, and speak the CFO's language.

🌍
A future built for everyone

As a Delaware PBC, our obligation is concrete: closing the governance gap between those with access to AI infrastructure and those without.

"Formal credentials are optional. Operational competence is mandatory."

Cogito, IR™go sum.
I think, therefore
I govern.

Common questions

Frequently asked.

Ensuring the right people, processes, and accountability are in place before AI deployment — not a compliance checkbox. An operational function. IR™ trains operators to build it.
Verifies completion of Ciph Lab's IR™ program, incl. capstone. Issued by Ciph Lab only — not accredited, not a legal qualification. Completion doesn't guarantee employment.
Those are standards and practitioner credentials defining what good AI governance looks like — not who runs it day to day. The IR™ Certificate fills that operator layer instead of competing with IAPP or ISO. It's built for real operational adjacency — IT, legal ops, project management, or any non-traditional background — with no J.D. or prior compliance certification required.
No — this is operational governance, not technical AI safety. Ethics is built into every framework, but operators are trained to escalate to a safety specialist when needed, not replace one.
Submit an Expression of Interest. Selection is reviewed by Juanita based on background and fit. 4 weeks, complete by September 15, 2026. Beta operators complete a full capstone to earn the certificate — your work shapes the standard for future cohorts.
No. Built for operators from diverse backgrounds — ops, IT, compliance, or non-traditional paths. The self-contained curriculum covers the operational layer: frameworks, accountability, and financial justification.
Live sessions in weeks 1 and 4 (~90 min each), async video in weeks 2 and 3. Roughly 3–4 hours per week.
Apply the IR™ framework to a real organization via one of two tracks: Track 1 — an internal briefing for operators already doing governance work, or Track 2 — a public piece for those transitioning in. Due October 24, reviewed by Juanita.
Both live sessions are recorded and shared with the cohort. Attendance is encouraged, not required — the capstone is a standalone submission.
Cohort 1 operators shape the curriculum for future cohorts — that's the founding rate. It won't be offered again.
Full refund up to September 29, 2026. No refunds after that date.
